Rene J. Valentin, of Lower Township, was arrested, according to Cape May County Prosecutor, Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief Kevin Lewis of the Lower Township Police Department.
This investigation stemmed from a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTip that revealed Valentin downloaded various videos and images of child sexual abuse material.
On March 10, 2023, the investigation was concluded as a result of the execution of a Court-authorized search warrant on Valentin’s residence located in the Cape May section of Lower Township.
Valentin was not located at his residence.
Valentin’s vehicle was subsequently searched with items of evidentiary value were found, the prosecutor said.
Analysis of Valentin’s personal effects were analyzed and found to contain Child Sexual Abuse Material, he said.
On April 10, as the result of the investigation, Valentin turned himself over to law enforcement officials.
Valentin was processed and taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center pending Court proceedings.
